The term respite care is, of course, more widely known. And both holiday cover and respite cover are similar. Holiday Cover means providing care and support for someone whilst they are on holiday. Respite cover, however, is about stepping in to provide support when the normal care provider, or care providers, are taking a well earned break.
We can provide holiday care if you or a loved one needs assistance whilst taking a well-earned break, or for whatever reason are away from home.
With a little advance planning, we can offer short and longer term respite care support services for our customers, ensuring all of your usual support needs are taken care of. With this extra layer of help in place, this leaves you or your loved one to enjoy all the benefits of a change of scene, safe in the knowledge that extra assistance is close at hand when you need it.
So, if the idea of getting away has become less practical over the years, holiday care could make all the difference. Contact us if you have any questions about our care at home services – even if you’re planning on getting away from home yourself!

Since my partner came home and needed 24 hour care, how amazing my carers have been with him. Every one of them goes above and beyond their duties. I have never seen him laugh and smile so much since all carers make him feel part of the crew. MS, partner of service user.

Similarly, it may be someone else involved in yours or a loved one’s care that is planning to take some time off. Care Matters can step in to provide essential respite care to cover holiday periods and ensure that a high standard and continuity of care is maintained at all times. For example, you may normally look after a parent, but plan to go away on holiday or for work. We can support this absence and provide our usual high standards of care for a temporary period of time.
