Published on January 7, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has confirmed that our Stockton branch has achieved an overall rating of ‘Good’, following the regulatory body’s latest inspection. The visit from two inspectors of the CQC took place just before the end of 2020, with the results published early this month.
What is a CQC Rating?
Within healthcare, and adult social care services in England, the CQC act as an independent regulator. It ensures that the care provided by the likes of home-care services, hospitals, dentists, and even ambulances meet standards of quality and safety.
By speaking to a selection of services users of the healthcare provider, plus family members, and staff, alongside reviewing a number of records and risk assessments, they assess providers on 5 key categories of quality:
Is the service safe? Is it effective? Is it caring? Responsive? And well-led?
Then, based on each of these criteria, a rating is established. Which in the case of our Stockton office – is a resounding ‘Good’!
And as you can see, if you wish to pay a visit to the CQC website to see the report, in this instance we scored ‘Good’ in all five categories!
Positive ratings across the company
Regional Manager of Care Matters Homecare Ltd, Steven Hutchinson, said of the fabulous findings from the latest inspection: “We’re very pleased with the rating awarded by the CQC. We welcome regulatory inspections, as the results can provide peace of mind to our services users, and as employees can also help us to review and appraise how we operate as a team. The staff work very hard, all year round, to ensure that our practices are safe, effective, and that we lead by example as a provider.”
