Right at the beginning of August we were delighted to announce that we expected to recruit a minimum of 50 additional local carers in to the Stockton area. And since celebrating this exciting tender we’ve continued to expand our team, both in Stockton, and over at our new Darlington office. The latest addition there – who many of our staff, service users and applicants may already have spoken with – is Rebecca Marriott.
Rebecca (pictured, left) joined us just last month as an apprentice administrator, and has already been excelling in her role. Dealing promptly and proactively with enquiries, assisting with filing and the recruitment process, contacting applicants – and plenty more – she has already become an integral part of the Care Matters team.
Naturally then, this is a seriously impressive start. Especially while Rebecca is still working through her Level 2 apprenticeship in Customer Service, and absorbing a wide variety of information in a demanding, varied environment. Her ability to fit in so quickly, however, perhaps comes from her extensive and rather eclectic background in other challenging customer service roles. Despite only leaving college a couple of years ago, Rebecca has already worked in several sectors, including retail, cosmetic surgery and, of course, healthcare (which has certainly helped!).
And in fact, her experience in care was one of the factors that attracted Rebecca to her new role – along with an abundance of office experience and her enjoyment of working in busy, administrative roles. With the future already looking distinctly bright for her then, she hopes to follow up her Level 2 apprenticeship with a related Level 3 qualification, and secure a long-term, permanent position at Care Matters as a fully-fledged Coordinator.
Of her experience so far, she said: “I feel that I’ve had maximum support from my peers, and also a lot of encouragement and praise when I have managed to fully take on a new skill or duty. I am always kept busy, and feel as though I am continuously expanding my knowledge, which helps me to understand my role more effectively.”
Sarah Whitaker (pictured above, right), Registered Manager in Darlington, added of the latest member of her team:
“Rebecca joined us at the beginning of September. She has hit the ground running and already picked up a great knowledge on webroster and those we support. She has proven to be a great asset to the Darlington office from day one!”
Excellent feedback indeed! From everyone here at Care Matters – welcome to the family, Rebecca!
