The scale of the requirement for mental health care is vast. The NHS (Mental Health Task Force 2016) have estimated that up to one in four of the general population suffer from at least one diagnosable form of mental illness each year. It is the largest single cause of disability … and it can happen to people in all walks of life, at all life stages and affects people to varying degrees of severity.
