Nasal and Gastric Feed

Specialist nasal and gastric feed care for people who have had stomach surgery and require direct tube feeding. This can be uncomfortable and cause anxiety, so compassion is at the core of everything we do.

About Us

Nasal and Gastric Feed Care

You or your loved one will naturally feel uncomfortable and anxious at the prospect of having a feeding tube (PEG) fitted either into their nose or stomach. Our caring, specialist team appreciates that PEG feeding needs to fit around normal life as far as possible, and knows how important it is to manage this medical need with minimum disruption and the reassurance of discretion and dignity.

By taking care of your different dietary requirements and medications, as well as your daily food and drink intake, our staff provide practical help as well as emotional support – all in the comfort of your own home.

Providing Nasal and Gastric Feed Care

This surgical procedure is typically performed to help people who have experienced serious difficulty when swallowing foods and liquids.

Care Matters Homecare’s specialist carers can provide important help and support for you or your loved one, to enjoy independent life at home, whilst we help take care of daily food and drink intake through feeding tube management.

Every individual has very different needs. We can help ensure all dietary requirements are taken into account and assist with administering medication if required.

Assessment and Care Planning

As with all our specialist complex care, our services are nursing team led and are regularly reviewed by our Clinical Lead Nurse. Our nurses will ensure a full assessment is carried out during a home visit, and work in full collaboration with you or your loved one, in order to create a completely unique care plan.

We understand that PEG feeding has to fit around normal life as far as possible and how important it is to manage this medical need with the minimum level of disruption. This is continually reviewed to ensure we are delivering an excellent level of specialist care for you or your loved one
