We’ve had a couple of well-deserved, and fantastically received spots of good news in the last week. Usually based in the heart of our Darlington office, Jemma Stephens was officially announced as a Senior Coordinator. While out in the community, Tina McKillop was promoted to Senior Care Assistant.
Both members of the Care Matters team have performed to a high standard since joining us, and there is no doubt that their excellence will continue, even while taking on a number of new responsibilities. With the entire team firmly behind them, and delighted to see their progress, both staff members are superb examples of what can be achieved with commitment, strong communication, and quality work in care.
Opportunities ongoing throughout lockdown
Almost two weeks into the second national lockdown, our approach to recruitment and, as you can see, staff development, remains unchanged from earlier in the year. As the demand for staff in healthcare has accelerated throughout 2020, we haven’t hesitated at any point in finding new care staff for jobs in Darlington and Stockton.
Just last week we welcomed 12 new staff into their roles, and we hope to continue hearing from caring individuals of all ages who wish to step into a new career, or advance their progress in the sector. And of course, as the team expands, we’ll need senior staff like Jemma and Tina to be on hand to guide the less experienced staff in their roles. (And we’re already sure they’ll do that with absolute aplomb anyway!).
The festive period approaches
So finally, as December draws ever closer, we’re already very excited to see what the end of 2020, and the start of next year holds for all of us. (Including the people who may join us over the coming weeks!). And although the festive period may be somewhat subdued this year, it’s nonetheless traditionally a time for reflection and celebration for many of us – so hopefully that will still be the case.
As always, our wonderful carers will be on hand 24/7, to help you, your family, and loved ones to enjoy the season in the same way you always do. So, if you happen to be thinking ahead, and looking to secure some extra care for someone in your life, please do contact us at your convenience.
From everyone at Care Matters, take care, and continue to support each other during this unusual late-autumn.
